6 Steps to Extract All Images From a Word Document At Once

Quick Tips

  • There’s no built-in way to save every image simultaneously, which can make it tedious and time-consuming if you need a copy of every image from a large file.
  • By saving a .doc or .docx file as an HTML file, you can quickly extract all images from a Word document.

Imagine your boss sends you a huge Word document with numerous graphs, tables, and charts that you need to complete your report. You could go through the document and click and save each image one by one. After the tenth or hundredth image, though, this can get tedious. If only there was a way to extract all images from a Word document in one go.

Thankfully, there is a workaround. It’s possible to save a copy of your Word document as an HTML file, which automatically extracts all the images. Here’s how.

Alternatively, you can click one, then hold the control (ctrl) key and click any others you want to move. When selected, they will be highlighted in light blue.
