Bookmarks are a great way to save sites you visit all the time or to link back to something you want to read later. However, when you swap between internet browsers, for example, from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge, your bookmarks aren’t automatically available. This leaves you having to manually search for your favorite sites and content, which takes up valuable time. Thankfully, it’s simple to import bookmarks into Edge from many other browsers. Here’s a quick guide on how to import bookmarks into Edge from Chrome so you can use both browsers as needed.
How to Import Bookmarks Into Edge From Chrome — Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open a Microsoft Edge internet browser page. If you don’t have Edge as a quick button on your task bar, you can always use the search bar to find it.

Step 2: Look for the three dots in the top right corner. Click here.

Step 3: Click on Favorites — you can also use the keyboard quick function of “ctrl” + “shift” + “O” to open Favorites. Again, it’s the three dots you need — in this menu, the three dots icon is the “More options” menu.

Step 4: Click on “Import Favorites.”

Step 5: You’ll now be taken to a separate browser page so that you can navigate more easily through the settings menus. Look for a prominent option near the top of the page that says, “Import data from Google Chrome.” It should also have the colorful Google Chrome logo next to it. Click the “Import” button next to this option.

Step 6: You’ll now see a popup window that gives you various options to choose from before you import bookmarks into Edge. Ensure that you’re on the correct profile — this is essential if you’re performing this task on a shared computer.

Step 7: You can import all your Google Chrome data, including browsing history, passwords, and more. However, if you only want to import bookmarks into Edge, untick all the other options by simply clicking the box next to each one.

Step 8: Click Import and wait for the confirmation screen to appear. Click “Done” to finish.

Step 9: To confirm the import process was successful, head back to Favorites using the three dots in the browser or the quick function highlighted above. You will now see that your Favorites list has been expanded with all the bookmarks from your Google Chrome browser. These will be associated with your Google account, so you shouldn’t see bookmarks from any other users. You can now quickly visit the same saved sites on both Chrome and Edge whenever you need to.
